Abstract:

This study aims to examine the financial attitudes of secondary school students with respect to various variables. For this purpose, Financial Attitude Scale (FTO) developed by Kılcan and Ergür (2019) was used to measure the financial attitudes of secondary school students. In this study, one of the descriptive research designs, which is a screening model, was used. The sample group of this study included 745 students from 5,6,7,8.grades continuing their education in central county of Kütahya. In the study, t-test, welch test and one-way ANOVA were performed by using SPSS package program. According to the results of the research, the financial attitudes of the participants have meaningful difference with respect to the amount of pocket money they receive, their budget planning and their own moneyboxes. In addition, it was concluded that there was no significant difference between the participants' total financial attitude scores and variables such as gender, educational status of parents, class levels, frequency of shopping. Based on the results of the study, some suggestions were made for the researchers.
