11 THE ALLIGNED RANK TRANSFORMATION TEST FOR INTERACTION (M.Sc.Thesis) ŞAFAK ÖZCAN GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUDE of SCIENCE and TECHNOLOGY June 2003 ABSTRACT In this study rank transformation test for two independent samples, k independent samples, one sample or matched pairs, randomized complete block design, and correlation are explained after then rank transformation test for interaction is explained. Limitations of the rank transformation test for interaction are emphasized and these limitations are presented by an numeric example. To overcome the limitations of the rank transform test for interaction the test known as aligned rank transformation test is recomended. A real life data application is utilized to illustrate the alternative test.
