In the concept of sustainability, using the existing building stocks provides environmental sustainability by decreasing energy consumption while it contributes to the social sustainability through protecting the cultural values. In the refunctioning studies, examples which are encountered frequently are the residential buildings which cannot be used with their original function because of the changing life styles. In the study, Province of Afyonkarahisar was chosen as the study area and three examples were analyzed. Post Occupancy Evaluation study was conducted with the aim of determining user satisfaction. In this direction, Chamber of Architects Representative Office which was turned into an office after being used as a residential building, Mihrioğlu Konak Restaurant which was turned into a restaurant and Culture and Art Center which was turned into an art center were selected. The study consists of three stages. A qualitative evaluation has been conducted in the first stage and physical space analysis. In the second stage, quantitative evaluation has been conducted. According to the opinions of the users, the status of the performance criteria in the buildings was determined through questionnaires which were applied to 50 people who were randomly selected between the dates of May and June 2018. As a result of the questionnaires, it has been concluded that the sustainability of the re functioned buildings are related to functional performance and the performance sub-headings that are effective in the perception of sustainability differ according to the new function. Accessibility was the most effective criterion for the office, the most effective criteria were public transport for restaurant and the most effective criterion was appropriateness of forms in the existing building to the new function for art center. Since the buildings which were analysed were registered buildings, intervention during the refunctioning works was kept at a minimum level which affected the technical, functional and behavioural performance values and accordingly the sustainability value. A generalization could not be made related to the sustainability and it was concluded that the sustainability varies depending on function and type of the building and it is not right to make a generalization.
