Abstract:In this study, Inconel 718 superalloy, which is one of the common superalloy, was produced using powder metallurgy techniques. Pre-alloyed IN-718 powders were pressed at 250 MPa-1250 MPa pressures and sintered at various temperatures (1260, 1280 ve 1300 °C) for 2 hours. Compactions were carried out on the powders with or without lubricant. Binder removal temperature has been chosen depending on the binder type. Sintered samples have been conducted to metallographic investigation, hardness test, three point bending tests and density measurements. Experimental results have shown that the temperature of 1300°C was found to be the best for sintering and acresol was the most suitable binder for this powder. Compacts were sintered easily at vacuum atmosphere however; it was difficult in gas atmosphere. After vacuum sintering the average of 87.3 % theoretical density and 724 MPa three point bending strength were obtained.
