Abstract:Arabic Language Teaching course books still continue to keep their prominent role in in Arabic Language Teaching. The selection and evoluation of course books which are frequently used in teaching process is very important. This study aims to find out the perspectives of Imam Hatip High School students and Arabic Language Teachers about the textbook series named as vocational Arabic for Imam Hatip High Schools. The data in this study, were obtained from the questionnaires applied to both students and Arabic Language teachers. These questionnaires were applied to 160 students from different Imam Hatip High Schools in Diyarbakır and 50 Arabic Language teachers working in different cities of Turkey. At the same time, in order to obtain more data interviews were conducted with 10 Arabic teachers. This study consists of five parts. The aim, importance and limitations of the research are discussed while textbooks, teacher and student roles, evaluation of textbooks, teaching Arabic in Turkey and teaching program of vocational Arabic textbook series for Imam Hatip High Schools are dealt with in detail. In the second part, information is given about the research method and in the third chapter the data gathered have been analyzed. Finally, in the light of those discussions some recommendations have been suggested for researchers.
