Abstract:

The aim of this study is to investigate the relation between the secondary school studentsz scientific creativity and biology course. Besides, in this study, studentsz scientific creativity and gender differences, the relationship between grade levels and secondary school studentsz and biology teachersz opinions about the impact of biology course on the scientific creativity were searched. The research model is the parallel hash method. Mixed methods research is not a simple combination of qualitative and quantitative methods, their strengths, support each other to use their comprehensive work. Investigation of the biology teachersz opinions of the qualitative data, data obtained from students now constitute the quantitative data. Qualitative and quantitative data were collected simultaneously and combined with the scientific creativity of students, which is the problem of the research biology lesson was used to evaluate whether the relationship between. The study sample for the study consisted of 268 students in Peyami Safa Anatolian High School which is located in Polatlı a district of Ankara, in 2013-2014 academic year. Teacher study group is Turkey's various Anatolian High school, vocational and technical Anatolian High school and Anadolu health Vocational worker and 14 female, 7 male, totaling 21 biology teacher has created.In this research, zA Scientific Creativity Testzz was developed to measure the studentsz scientific creativity. A Recovery Assessment Scale was developed about the gains related to scientific creativity of studentsz, regarding behavior. An Opinion Determination Form has been developed to get the sights of biology teachersz about the effect of biology course on the scientific creativity. To determine the measurement validity and reliability was conducted with 88 secondary school students. As a result of the actual application the scientific creativity of studentsz were found to be at moderate levels. In this study, it was found that there is a positive and significant relationship between the studentsz academic performance scores in biology courses and their scientific creativity scores. There were no significant gender differences. The scientific creativity of the studentzs was found to be impact in favor of grade 12 students. In addition to this, secondary school students think that they can transform the skills related to scientific creativity in biology curriculum to behavior.
