Abstract:This study aims to investigate pile-soil-structure interaction and pile reactions for a highway bridge using finite element method modelling piles, soil and structural members together and modelling single piles under seismic forces. For analysis, Yeşilırmak Bridge is chosen which is a highway bridge. Yeşilırmak Bridge has foundations with three row of bored piles and piles are extending into stiff clay with free water. The analyzed bridge is modelled with all bridge members in SAP2000 software and nonlinear property of soil is assigned to piles as plastic link members. While computing earthquake loads, time history analysis is used. In earthquake analysis in Samsun city Çarşamba district location, fault type, distance to fault, shear wave velocity, soil properties and magnitude properties are used to find proper earthquake records and this records are scaled according to site specific response spectrum of the bridge and loads are applied to numerical model. Also, single piles at each row are modelled in LPile software and moment, shear and displacement values are compared, and also differences are presented in pile behaviour of model with pile-foundation-structure interaction and model with single pile.
