The analysis about the research and the development of nowledge of using technological devices which cause electromagnetic pollution of the students

Abstract:

The purpose of this research is to determine the electromagnetic pollution awareness which comes from technological devices (base station, wifi, cell phone, laptops) on the perspective of variables (such as gender ,class level, mother-father education) of the students who is in secondary and high schools on 7.8.9.10. and 11. grade in Ankara, to ascertain if the education upon electromagnetic pollution effects students' level of awareness and to determine students' opinions about electromagnetic pollution that comes from technological devices. In the quantitative research of this subject, 4453 secondary and (7. 8. 9. 10. and 11.) grade high school students which bounded up to Ankara City Director of Education in 2012-2013 education year takes place. On the other hand in the qualitative part is all about the 10 random chosen students who take part in quantitative research. To determine the participants, the stratified sampling method of random sampling in the direction of research problem has been used.150 minute's awareness education is given to the students. To determine students electromagnetic pollution awareness which comes from technological devices and to make them conscious about this subject, mixed pattern of the synthesis of quantitative and qualitative data were used. In the quantitative part of the research, causal-comparative method and one group pretest-posttest design model have been used. In the qualitative part of the subject phenomenological method has been used. In the research, the awareness of the use of technological devices which cause electromagnetically pollution of data collection implements and pretest-posttest form have been used. The quantitative data has been analyzed by the help of SPSS 15 statistical programs. In the analyses of quantitative data, descriptive statistic techniques, independent groups t-test, one factor ANOVA test, dependent groups t-test have been used and significant level is set as 05. For the analyses of qualitative data, content analyze method has been used. According to the results of the research, upon to determine students' electromagnetic pollution awareness which comes from technological devices and to make them conscious about this subject, it is found that there is a statistical difference considering the gender. But it is immobilized that the awareness is emanated because of the sample size. Correspondingly, it is found that the awareness of the students differentiates by the level of classes statistically but it is found that this awareness occurs because of the enormous size samples. When the awareness has investigated by the education level of mother, the statistical awareness that grows out of the sample size has been found. Nothing has found when the awareness has investigated by the education level of father. There is a statistical difference about the income level on the subject of to determine students electromagnetic pollution awareness which comes from technological devices but it is seen that this difference has happened because of the size of the sample. Finally, when the pretest-posttest results compared about the awareness level of the students, the expressive statistical posttest difference has been found. It is seen that electromagnetic pollution education is effective in the improvement of the awareness of the students. Moreover, according to the results of qualitative data, it is seen that the electromagnetic pollution education is useful for students.
