Abstract:In this dissertation study, an application of self-oscillating control technique was carried out on an induction heater with a half-bridge series resonant inverter. The self-oscillating control circuit was designed by using analysis results of the half bridge series resonant circuit. Control of power switches is provided by designed current transformer and changes in the load of the heater can be observed. In power circuit two MOSFETs were used as a power switch. The effects of parameters of circuit components on the driving voltage and frequency were investigated. For this purpose, the effects of the magnetizing inductance and the secondary current of the current transformer used in the driving circuit on the driving voltage were presented by using a parametric simulation circuit. A self-oscillating induction heater was designed for absorption cooler as an application. The calculation, simulation and application results of the system and the heating-cooling temperature curves were presented. The temperature curves of the induction heating system were compared with the curves of the resistance heating absorption cooling system. The designed heating system has important superiorities on IC controlled driver circuit such as it is simple and cheap; the inverter follows changes in the load; it does not require a dead time circuit, a control circuit with an integrated circuit, an electronic circuit to detect current and voltage, a power supply for driver or an isolation circuit.
