Abstract:

In this study the IR spectrum of oxazole ligand which has a molecular formula of C3H3NO was recorded, its vibrational frequencies and modes were determined. Vibrational assigments were proposed for the ligand. Theoretical vibrational frequencies of the ligand were obtained by the aid of Gaussian03 computer software and then those were compared with the experimental data. Besides, general formula of ZnX2L2 [X= Cl, Br, I; L = C3H3NO] with compounds given have been prepared for the first time. The IR spectra of complexes were reported, and vibrational frequencies and mode were obtained. The result of the C, H, N analysis of the complexes were also given. Due to the complexation, frequency shifts with respect to the free ligand were observed.
