Abstract:

In this work, methanesulfonic acid hydrazide and its derivatives 5methylsalicylaldehydemethanesulfonylhydrazone (5msalmsh), 5-methyl 2- hydroxyasetophenonemethanesulfonylhydrazone(5mafmsh) were synthesized. The structures of new sulfonylhydrazones were determined by using elemental analysis, FTIR, 1H-NMR and 13C-NMR, and also 5msalmsh was supported with X-ray crystallography method. Ni(II) and Co(II) complexes of sulfonylhydrazones were synthesized and their structures were investigated by using elemental analysis, FTIR, 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, LC/MS spectrophotometric methods, magnetic susceptibility, conductivity measurements and thermal studies. The antibacterial activities of synthesized compounds were studied against gram positive bacteria; Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus magaterium and gram negative bacteria; Salmonella enteritidis, Escherichia coli by using Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) method.
