Abstract:This research aims to investigate the effects of Creative Drama Method applied to the 6th grade "Equations and Equality" Maths course towards students' attitudes. In this study, "The Attitude scale towards Mathematics course" was used which was prepared by Duatepe, and Çilesiz (1999) and applied on the 1st grade of the university students. This attitude scale's Cronbach Alfa reliability coefficient was 0.96. Before beginning the research, this attitude scale test was applied totally on 320 students on 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grades from Çalışkanlar Primary and Tandoğan Secondary Schools. The attitude scale's reliability was tested on the secondary school students. The data obtained was transferred to the IBM SPSS Statistics 20 program and the analyses were performed. As a result of applied explanatory factor analysis, the number of article was decreased to 15 from 38, 15 items were split up 3 sub-dimensions as the result of content validity, and it was found that all the factor loadings were over 0,500. Additionally, it was determined that fear sub-dimension was absolutely reliable since it's Cronbach Alfa reliability coefficient was 0,811 and with the coefficient of 0,684 sympathy sub-dimension and 0,677 interest sub-dimension, these two sub-dimensions were found quite reliable. Thus and so , "The Attitude scale towards Mathematics course " was adapted to "The Attitude scale towards Mathematics course of the secondary school students " Before starting the application, lesson plans including Creative Drama Method and describing the subject of "Equality and Equations" were prepared. Two groups; one of them was experimental and the other was control group, were selected from the 6th grade classes in Çalışkanlar Primary School. 6A class was selected as experimental group; 6C class was selected as the control group. Before teaching the subject, "Math Lesson Attitude Scale" was applied as a pre-test on each of the two groups. Then, the subject "Equality and Equations" was taught to 6A; experimental group students with Creative Drama Method and to 6C; control group students with Traditional Methods that the course book has been processed. At the end of the 2 week-long series of lectures and practices, "The Attitude Scale for Mathematics" was applied as a post-test to the experimental and control groups. When the point averages of pre- test and post-test of the two 6th grade groups were compared, a significant distinctness in favour of the experimental group was observed in fear, sympathy and interest sub-dimensions. On account of Drama applications and by the help of Creative Drama Methods, it was determined that, the students' fear attitudes towards Mathematics were decreased. On the other hand, the sympathy and interest attitudes of the students towards Mathematics were increased. As a conclusion, it was found that, Creative Drama Method which was applied in the subject of the 6th grade "Equations and Equality" Maths course has a positive effect on students' attitudes towards Mathematics.
