Abstract:

The main aim of this study is to look for trends in research studies which Lego Mindstorms NXT® robotic set was used as an educational tool and to determine the general trends of these research studies by collect information like country, school level, study year, course and research technique. In this study which was used content analysis research design there are 163 research studies which are published in English and Turkish examined and according to the sample selection criteria, 48 researches was analyzed. Research studies are examined in this study were coded and anlayzed according to study year, country, sample size, method, research type, course, course field, school level and scientific study type. The findings of the study indicated that 15 proceedings, 23 articles, 6 master theses and 4 PhD. dissertations have been published. For approximately half of the publication, researchers have used qualitative research techniques. The research studies have been examined in this study were encountered that possitive effect of the Lego Mindstorms® NXT on the dependent variables. Researchers have mostly preferred to secondry school for application. According to the findings, most publications were made in 2012. Finally, interdisciplinary courses which in Lego Mindstorms® NXT robot kits were used as an educational tool is the most preferred area.
