A Suggested Syllabus Based On Creative Drama For Speaking Skills Courses in Arabic Language Teaching

Abstract:

The most important and effective tools of communication between people is language. When the studies of foreign language teaching conducted today are taken into consideration, it is aimed to reveal more effective teaching methods and methods in verbal communication skills in speaking and listening skills. The aim of this research is to present a creative drama-focused syllabus for teaching speaking skills as a foreign language Arabic teaching. The research was carried out with students studying at Gazi University, Adıyaman University and Istanbul Aydın University Arabic Language Education Undergraduate Program in the 2019-2020 academic year. In the first step of the research, “Arabic Speech Skills Evaluation Scale” was prepared. The scale was evaluated in terms of validity and reliability and applied to 442 undergraduate students studying at Gazi University, Adıyaman University and Istanbul Aydın University Arabic Language Education departments. The data obtained from the scale were presented to the expert opinion and opinions were received from the experts in the field of creative drama and Arabic language regarding the solution of the problems faced by the students with a creative drama focused syllabus. In the light of the data obtained, a program of Arabic speaking skills teaching based on creative drama was prepared. The designed model was presented to the expert opinion for the second time and the final version of the model was designed as a result of the evaluations obtained. The research consists of six chapters: the introduction of the study, the theoretical background of the field, the used method, the findings and interpretations obtained, the program of Arabic language teaching based on creative drama and the results obtained from the study.
