Abstract:
In this study, the similarities and differences between the tenses in the target language Arabic and mother tongue Kurdish were examined and the similarities and differences between them determined by the method of contrastive analysis. The study is a qualitative study and the general screening model was used. The universe of the study consisted of grammar sources related to Arabic and Kurdish, and the sample was composed of sentences obtained from sources written in both languages and the sentences expressed by the researcher. As a result of the research and analysis, it is seen that the similarities and differences between the two languages were so many that can’t be ignored so that solution offers were developed for learning difficulties which the students may encounter. It is evident that the data resulting from the identification of similarities and differences will provide a positive contribution to the learning process of these two languages.
