Abstract:The purpose of this study is to determine the correlation between the level of anxiety and the game statistics applying competitive anxiety inventory (C.S.A.I-2 Competitive State Anxiety Inventory) to male elite volleyball players of the league in our country. In this research, 42 volleyball players of the first league in 2012 2013 season have been experimented as the subject group. In order to collect the competition parametions to evaluate (C.S.A.I-2 Competitive State Anxiety Inventory) official statistic program of the Volleyball Federation; Data Project (2007)has been used. The statistical analysis of the obtained data contains the correlation between the state anxiety and the points from the serves, serves kept in the game, points from the blocks, succeeding bumps, failed bumps, successful attacks, failed attacks and the total contribution correlations. While calculating the correlational values, the liberos and the setters have been disregarded in some of the variables due to their positions in the games. While the liberos have been evaluated in the statistics for their succeeding and failing bumps variants, the setters have been examined with their serving points, serves remaining in the game and their block variants. As a result of the analysis, for only the hitters; the correlational coefficient between the anxiety state variant and the remaining serves in the game has been found as -, 683 and the correlational coefficient between the failed bumps and the anxiety state variant has been obtained as , 567. By observing only the liberos positioned to receive the bumps, the correlational coefficient between the failed bumps and the anxiety state variant has been obtained as , 927. When we examine the setters missioned to set the game and the attack pass in volleyball, the correlational value between the remaining serve in the game and the anxiety state variant has been calculated as , -748. Interpreting the findings of the research; as the anxiety level increases, the player‟s performance is observed to be decreasing. However, the analysis states an inverse correlation for the attack moves. The results show us that medium-level anxiety of the volleyball players has a positive reflection on the competition parameters.
