Ankara has been a living city since the Neolithic and Paleolithic times and has hosted many historical layers. From the Roman era to the time of the Republic of Turkey, it has become an area where different states (Byzantium, Seljuk and Ottoman) have settled and built. Until the year 2000, the urbanization of Ankara and the resulting architectural products were able to be gathered under certain periods and trends. The architecture exhibited in this process was unique to Ankara and leads Ankara to be a planned city. However, increasing globalization by the 2000s has also influenced and transformed Ankara's architectural environment. After discussing how the discourses that accompanied globalization reflected the 21st century location and the architectural environment, the effects on Ankara city were evaluated. Experienced innovations and discourses that resonate in the architectural environment, are gathered under the concepts of rise, prestige, flexible space, separation, mixed function, ecology, variety, diversity, brand and demonstration. First of all, these concepts were expressed in what they found in the architectural environment and then these concepts were paired with architectural products produced in Ankara after 2000. In order to be able to do these pairing, post-2000 Ankara buildings in the architectural literature were compiled and their characteristics were revealed. Which features of the post-2000 Ankara architectural products, considered as the study area, correspond to which concepts are explained. With this method, it is examined how the architectural environment in Ankara has changed in the process of globalization and the effects of globalization factors on the city. Architectural products produced after 2000 have been a sign of change. The fact that the city of Ankara was a local scale, planned and fictional city in the past has reached a different dimension in 21st century architecture. In the 21st century, while searching for local architecture maintains on the one hand, it is desired to be discovered on the other hand. At the end of this trial and exploration process, Ankara is shaped as a city where dual status is observed. Although unique examples of their own texture and geography are being produced, they have moved to a dimension where the structures that are identical with the effect of globalization and that can be constructed anywhere in the world are increasing in number.
