Abstract:

In this study, measured piezometric water surface elevations emerged after Ikizdere Dam construction, which was build by State Hydrolic Works-Department of Dams and Hydroelelectric Power Plants, and datas obtained from seepage calculations with finite elements method were analysed. Measurements taken from 44 piezometric edges which were located at 3 different sections in clay core during the construction phase were evaluated. In the evaluation; 4 different piezometric edges from each section were selected and pressure values measured with regard to varied water surface elevations at reservoir were used. Material parameters were taken from the table of 'Clay Zone Laboratory Experiment Results' prepared by State Hydraulic Works. At the end of the analysis, the seepage calculations were compared with taking into consideration of the alternative permeability coefficients of the impermeable material. Seepage analysis of the dam was made using finite elements method.
