Abstract:The aim of the study is to evaluate the TV program that is called as "Gerçek Hayatta Ne İşimize Yarayacak?" of Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) TRT Okul (TRT School) Channel in secondary school biology course curriculum. In terms of scanning method, a descriptive approach was adopted and the document review method is used in the study. The working group has been established 42 experts in the field of biology.As a data collection tool, the 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th Grades Biology Course Curriculum Gains Form of Ministry of Education and the Evaluation Form related to "Gerçek Hayatta Ne İşimize Yarayacak?" program of TRT School channel were developed. The inter-rater reliability coefficient of the instruments varied between 85% and 92%. The data collection tools were applied to 42 domain experts in biology. The participants took part in the study voluntarily and they were asked for watching the "Gerçek Hayatta Ne İşimize Yarayacak?' program and evaluating the assessment tools. Data collection tools were sent to experts via e-mail or as a hard copy and their opinions were collected by using the same methods. In data analysis, descriptive statistics were used, the frequencies (f) and percentage distribution (%) were calculated, and in light of this information, the findings and results were assessed. The findings of the current study showed that, "Gerçek Hayatta Ne İşimize Yarayacak?" program failed to satisfy the gains of secondary education 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th grades biology course curriculum. However, the evaluations of domain experts in terms of the content, timing, and discussion of the subjects of the TV program were positive. In the discussion part, it was suggested that, with the collaboration of TRT, broadcasting public service, and the Ministry of Education, the educational television programs, which support the gains in curriculums should be broadcasted. Moreover, the researches in terms of educational broadcasts of dedicated channels should be conducted. Furthermore, with the help of virtual studio applications, more colorful and economic broadcasts should be done.
