Abstract:

THE USE OF THE PIANO ACCOMPANIMENTS WITH THE MARCHES BY THE MUSIC INSTUCTORS AT THE SECONDARY SCHOOL EDUCATION (MASTER THESIS) ŞENAY TOPCU GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF EUCATIONAL SCIENCES Ankara 2005 ABSTRACT This study aims to determine to what an extent the piano accompaniments are used with the marches by the music instructors at the secondary school music education and focuses on the possible problems and offers suggestions for them. As a descriptive research, this study has been prepared by "gathering data" and applying guestiomaires ". The data gathered have been analyzed statistically and have been presented in tables of freguency and percentage. The present study shows that the music instructors do not sufficiently make use of the skill and knowledge they acguired in "Harmony-Counterpoint- Accompanist", "Korrepetisyon" and "Piano" courses in the piano accompaniments of the marches. Suggestions have been made for the coordination between the courses and for a moore functional education.
