Abstract:Solution of electromagnetic problems via analytical methods is getting more difficult as the complexity of the problems increase. This situation has caused the numerical methods to be preferred more and has led to the development of many numerical methods. In this thesis, FDFD (Finite Difference Frequency Domain) method is used in the solution of the scattering problem from a two dimensional dielectric object. The media and waves are modeled by using FDFD method and the solution is obtained according to the modeled structure. The solutions are found out for objects having different shapes and features so as to prove the flexibility of the FDFD method. Also, the results obtained by FDFD method are compared with other solutions found in the literature, the similarities and differences between the two group of solutions are evaluated.
