Abstract:

In this study as a subject of research and analysis work on the relationship between alternative materials and artists in sculpture art. It was revealed that in the historical process experienced changes the materials used in sculpture art and tried to explain with examples. It was observed in samples taken in addressing that according to changing world conditions artists shifted their choice of materials and they work on the material era in which they live. This historical conversion of the material art was exemplified with many of the artist's works and the works of contemporary artists. It was seemed that used traditionally defined stone, bronze, wood and until modern art as the material of sculpture. This materials regarded as noble and also it exhibits a solid stance against the alternative. Along with modern art began to be preferred instead it accepted this noble objects, useage objects in everyday life and waste. This is expanded repertoire art material. Polymeric material which is one of the discoveries in the direction of the needs of the modern world, emerges as one of the materials involved in this repertoire. In this study conducted in applications works was realized polymeric materials. Also give place to artists using this material, especially and identified diversity in the plastic in terms of usage possibilities. Overall imaginary structure revealed by its own material and tend to use it as a conscious artist who has been subject. It was mentioned that in general imaginary structure revealed by its own material and directed the artists to use it consciously. Personal works generating in the scope of thesis, contacted with the polymer material and the uncanny concept and tried to explaining the works.
