Abstract:

It is important that the service is implemented quickly and accurately in the health system. In operating rooms, which are the most critical units of hospitals, the process is expected to progress systematically and continuously under certain criteria. In this study, a scheduling study was conducted for the distribution modeling of operating rooms to teams in a university hospital in Turkey. The existence of multiple surgical branches, many types of surgeries belonging to branches, different operating times and surgeries that require special equipment complicates the system. In the current system, the operating room supervisor assigns the surgical departments to the operating rooms manually. To solve this assignment problem, numerical data of the general operating room were analyzed. Afterwards, a mathematical model was developed, and operating room scheduling was performed by solving the model in the CPLEX Optimization Programming Language (OPL) program. In another step within the scope of the study, "Multi-Criteria Decision Making Techniques (MCDM)" was used. As a result of interviews with experts, the criteria to be considered while forming a team and the importance weights of these criteria were determined, and this process was analyzed by using MCDM techniques. Arrangement has been made by using MCDM techniques regarding the selection of responsible nurses to work in the operating room and data that can be used in the appointment process have been revealed.
