Abstract:

In this study, 2014 aluminum composite material with different Al4C3 reinforcement rotions was produced by spinn casting and powder metallurgy metods. In these two production methods, the effect of Al4C3 amount of 0,5, 1, 2 and 4 % on the micro structure and hardness was determined. The change of density after sintering of reinforcement and not- reinforcement materials produced by powder metallurgy was investigated. After composite production by casting and powder metallurgy methods, the specimens were aged at 200 ° C following solution treatment at 510 ° C for 7 hours. It was seen that the hardness values incresed with increasing Al4C3 amount and changed by the composite production method. The wear loss and the effect of Al4C3 amount on wear strength in the specimens produced by these roduction method were determined. The microstructural characterization of SEM and EDS analysis were carried out in order to see Al4C3 dispersion in the specimens and heat treatment. It was seen that homogenization was effective parameter in terms of particle dispersion. Different dispersion of Al4C3 effected hardness and wear a negative way.
