Abstract:Audiological and clinical results of fully implantable middle ear hearing devices(Carina) Hearing aids are main materials for rehabilitation of patients who have sensorineural hearing loss hearing loss. Hearing aids also act a part in correcting conductive hearing loss inappropriate to surgical and medical treatment. There are limitations of using conventional hearing aids originated from patients and devices. To resolve this limitations implantable hearing aids have been designed. İmplantable hearing aids are composed of partial and fully implantable devices. İn this thesis study, for detecting clinical and audiologic results of fully implantable hearing device(Carina), for preoperative and postoperative audiogram comparison rutine audiogram applied to the patients. Also postoperative quality of life questionnarie(Glasgow Benefit Inventory) applied to patients to detect clinical advantages of the implant. According to the data acquired from study, audiologically Carina doesn?t have an adverse effect to the patients existing hearing level and improves patients hearing level significantly. But there is not any significant difference between improvement of hearing loss with Carina and conventional hearing aids. Clinically evaluated that Carina is more sufficient than conventional hearing aids.
