Berker AKER GAZİ UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY December 2001 ABSTRACT The relationship about the fast population increase, there is an increase in people both in and out of the national education age category. A way of distribution of the education to majority is the usage of hypertext based education systems. From this point of view, multimedia, hypermedia and WWW essential are studied and the usage of hypermedia in education is mentioned. Examples from both Turkey and foreign countries and at the conclusion our people's point of view on Internet based distance education are given. A questionnaire analysis is also given.
