Abstract:In this study, some properties of special functions are examined. The thesis is composed of six sections. In the first section, Pochammer symbol, hypergeometric functions, generating functions and some lemmas used in the thesis are given. In the second section, a generating function for Bessel functions is given. Recurrence relations, differential equation and integral representation of Bessel functions are recalled. In third, fourth and fifth sections generating functions, recurrence relations, differential equation, Rodrigues formula, ortogonality and the concept of norm are investigated for Legendre, Hermite and Laguerre polynomials. In the last section, Bateman, Rice, Sister Celine and Bessel polynomials are introdoced and generating functions for these polynomials are studied.
