Abstract:Purpose of this study, secondary school students in biology courses motivation levels of biology teachers in classroom management profile, the impact of an assessment of identifying the teachers' classroom management profile of the students' biology lesson motivation level difference between whether to investigate. The scope of this study, the Ministry of Education in 2009-2010 academic year due to the general secondary school students who attended high school, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th grade students and biology teachers who teach these students accounted for biology. The sample of this study, due to the central districts of Ankara province, the general secondary schools and high schools were selected randomly from the simple 9., 10., 11. and 12. 3252 students of the biology of individuals and teach these students consisted of 110 biology teachers. Biology Lesson Motivation Survey from Glynn and Koballa (2006) and Class Management Profile Envanter from Kris (1996a) is used as an instrument to gather data which needed in the study. Data obtained by the measurement equipments are analyzed with the programs of SPSS 15.0 In the analysis of data, methods of frequency, percentage, independent T test, one-way analysis of variance, one-way regreation analysis and the coefficient of eta kare (effect level) and Pearson Korelasyon are used. General results detected from the data of evaluated research; 1. It is determined that the students have intermediate motivation level. 2. It is detected that female students have higher motivation points than male students. 3. In an assessment of class level, while eleventh year students' motivation of biology lesson have the highest values, ninth year students have least values. 4. Students' motivation of biology lesson has a direct proportion with overall academic success. It is seen that while students' level of success increases, their motivations also increase simultaneously 5. Students of female teachers' motivation levels of biology lesson are more capable from students of male teachers at responsibility of learning biology, confidence of learning biology and concern levels in biology exams. On the other hand, Students of male teachers' outer motivation points are higher than students of female teachers. 6. An assessment which is done upon teachers' seniority level, while 15 year and below year experienced teachers has the highest motivation level. 16-20 year experienced teachers have the least motivation level. This result shows that experienced teachers have problems with motivation level of class. 7. It is determined that level of biology teachers' class managing methods is intermediate. On the other side, according to determined averages , while teachers at intermediate level are determined that they behave as authoitarian teacher, idle teacher and unconcerned teacher. It is understood that expert teachers behave as appreciated teacher. 8. Female teachers have higher general points of class management than male teachers. On the other side, female teachers show higher appreciated, idle and unconcerned behaviours than male teachers. It is determined that male teachers has the higher authoritarian teacher points than female teachers. 9. It is found that 16-20 year experienced teachers' class managing averages are the highest level and it is determined that 21 year and above experienced teachers have the least point. Besides 16-20 year experienced teachers show idle, unconcerned and appreciated behaviours more frequently. As for the highest authoritarian teacher behaviour is displayed by 21 year and above experienced teachers. 10. In biology lecture, motivation of the students of the teachers who have the class management profile of free rein is seen high-level, also motivation of the students of the teachers who have the class management profile of unconcerned is seen low-level. 11. It is determined that there is a high-level and directly propotional relation between the motivation points and intrinsic motivation, interest in learning biology, feeling responsible of learning biology, trust on learning biology. Moreover, a middle-level relation between the motivation points of students in biology lecture and the points of the extrinsic motivation magnitute, a low-level and positive relation between the motivation points of students in biology lecture and the concern points in biology examinations can be mentioned. Besides, the relations between the whole magnitutes except the relations between the magnitute of concern in biology examinations and interest in learning biology, feeling responsible of learning biology are seen statistically meaningful. 12. It is determined that the class managing methods of biology teachers do not fulfill the motivation levels of the students in biology class. This situation results in noticing that the class managing methods of biology teachers have no effects on the motivation levels of the students in biology class.
