Nation states, which have come to exist after the French Revolution (1789), have used education as a means of spreading the ideology of political power and justifying it in society, in additon to traditional training activites. Because of this situation, in company with nation-states, interaction between education and ideology has reached peak. Likewise, nation-states have used educational institiutions and their one of the foremost training materials, textbooks, as a tool in order to raise appropriate individuals according to ideology. After the fall of the Ottoman Empire, Turkish Republic was also founded as a nation-state. The books, which were written in the early years of republic İçtimaiyat by Mehmet İzzet and Toplumbilim by Necmettin Sadak have been examined by content analysis method in order to determine whether education was used as an indoctrination of ideology like other nation-states, and it has been observed that like other nationstates, Turkish Republic has also used education as a means of spreading ideology.
