Abstract:This study, which was prepared in order to determine the demographic characteristics and the failure reasons of the middle school mathematic students, was applied to 526 middle school students at 6 public schools in the 2015-2016 academic year. In line with the purpose of the study, ‘’The Demographical Characteristics and the Mathematical Success of Middle School Students Questionnaire’’ was prepared according to the survey development process by following the questionnaire development process. As a result of the study, it was seen that there was no significant difference between the academic success of the students in mathematics course and the factors such as the gender of the students, the number of the books they read and frequency of getting help while doing homework. In addition, it was observed that students' mathematics achievement was influenced by many demographic characteristics such as grade levels, absenteeism, and the number of siblings.
