Abstract:The importance of efficient use of energy increases with the depletion of fossil energy resources over time and environmental impacts. In this thesis, pure water was used as study fluid in thermosyphon type heat pipe, the performance of the heat pipe according to different parameters has been experimentally investigated, optimum working conditions have been determined. In experimental study, temperature measurements taken from different points on heat pipe were transferred to computer. Experiments were conducted by using 17,68 ml, 35,36 ml and 44,2 ml charge rates for three different power inputs as 200 W, 300 W and 400 W; 5g/s , 7.5g/s and 10 g/s mass flow and by applying 60o, 75o and 90o tilt angels. The numerical analysis of data that obtained from experiments, effects of different parameters on performance was investigated. According to the results obtained from the heat pipe experiments, the optimum operating conditions were obtained at 90o slope angle, 44,2 ml charging rate and 5 g/s flow rate.
