Abstract:

This thesis sets out to investigate history teachers utilizing of history forum websites in terms of various variables. The aims of this study are to reveal that history teachers frequency of Internet use and ratio of benefitting from history forum websites contribute to history learning, and the content of history forum websites effects history learning and history teaching in a positive way. Source scanning and interview methods were used as data gathering of this study. According to the findings of this research, while some history teachers do not believe in the accuracy of history forum websites, it has emerged that some history teachers have obtained essential data and documents by visiting three different history forum websites. A majority of history teachers have stated that benefiting from history forum websites effects history teaching in a positive way. Taking into account these results, because of the effect of technology in history teaching, it is pointed out that history forum websites should be used more, and in the light of these findings some suggestions have been made.
