Abstract:This research was conducted in order to examine the effect of the Memory Training Program supported by animations on the phonological, visual-spatial and semantic memory skills of children and the development of Memory Battery for Preschool Children for the 61-72 months children who are continuing pre-school education. In order to evaluate children's memory skills, Memory Battery for Preschool Children was developed and validity reliability study was done. Two different study groups were included in this study. The study group selected for validity reliability studies of Memory Battery for Preschool Children is 202 children who are in the period of 61-72 months in preschools of the primary schools attached to the Ministry of National Education in the provincial centers of Ankara in the academic year of 2015-2016; the working group to which the Memory Education Program is applied has created 40 children who are in the period of 61-72 months in the district of Etimesgut in Ankara province in the academic year of 2016-2017 in the same neighborhood between two preschools of primary schools in the district. Research was carried out pre-test post-test, control group experimental design and one of the schools was randomly selected as the experiment group and the other as the control group. The Memory Education Program, supported by animations prepared by the researcher, was applied to the experimental group two days in a week through ten weeks. The data of this study was collected by General Information Form and Memory Battery for Preschool Children. Memory Battery for Preschool Children was applied to the experimental and control group as a final test at the end of the ten-week education program. Four weeks after the last test, 20 children in the experimental group were reapplied to determine if the training was permanent. In the reliability analyzes of Memory Battery for Preschool Children, substance difficulty index (pj) and item discrimination power index (rjx), K-20 reliability, item-total correlations and Cronbach alpha reliability and test-retest reliability analyzes were performed. The distribution of children and their families with respect to their demographic characteristics are given as frequency and percentage values. Whether or not the children participating in the Memory Education Program are different according to the effect of the education applied to the Memory Battery for Preschool Children scores were tested by ANCOVA. In the experiment group, the t test was used for the repeated tests in the comparison of the permanence test. The significance level was determined to be 0.05. As a result of the findings, it was determined that the Memory Education Program supported with animations has a positive effect on the development of children's phonological, visual spatial and semantic memory skills and this effect is permanent.
