Burn-out syndrome of lecturers whose on duty at the departments of music education at the colleges of education in Türkiye

Abstract:

This research aims to examine the burn-out levels of the lecturers who work at the departments of music education at the colleges of teachers at the universities in Turkiye and draw attention to Burn-out Syndrome. The universe and the sample of the research are all of the lecturers of the above mentioned institutions. A questionnaire about personal information and "Maslach Burn-out Inventory" were sent to the all 356 lecturers. Only 290 people responded back to the researcher. The results of the research showed that there was partially burn-out of lecturers at the departments of music education. Burn-out levels of the lecturers were determined a significant difference about their ages, academic titles, monthly incomes, leisure time and seniorities. But the burn-out levels of the lecturers does not show great differences as statistics level according to their genders, marital status, graduated education programme, weekly subjects programmes, living places and working places are in the same place or not.
