Abstract:The scope of this research, conducted in order to determine the relationship between the level of anxiety of football players before the starting of a match and their positive and negative behaviors during the match, consists of football players in Turkey aged 14 and 15, whereas, its sample group consists of the football players playing in the U14 and U15 league of the football clubs of Kayseri Erciyesspor, Gençlerbirliği, Ankaragücü, Konya TorkuĢekerspor and Boluspor. Before the starting of a match, the Sport Competition Anxiety Test , shortly known as SCAT , developed by Martens and his friends (1990), has been utilized. The positive and negative behaviors during a match have been observed through an evaluation form developed by the researcher. There is no meaningful relationship found between positive-negative behaviors displayed during the match among the players of the Ankaragücü U14 (n=19) and U15 (n=19) teams. It is also true that there is no meaningful relation between Competition concerns (Ġlinois) points and positive negative behaviors of the Gençlerbirliği U14 (n=18) and U15 (n=13) teams. For the players of the TorkuĢeker Konyaspor U14 team (n=18), the relationship between the Competition concerns (Ġlinois) score and negative behaviors, the Pearson Correlation coefficient has been calculated as R=-.529 and the P value=.024. Thus we may say that there is a meaningful inverse relationship at a moderate level between the Competition concerns (Ġlinois) score and the negative behaviors displayed during the match. It is possible to say that no meaningful relationship exists between the Competition concerns (Ġlinois) score and the positivenegative behaviors displayed during the match, for the players of the TorkuĢeker Konyaspor U15 team (n=19). We may say that there is no meaningful relationship between the Competition concerns (Ġlinois) score and the positive-negative behaviors displayed during the match. For the players of the Kayseri Erciyesspor U14 (n=15) and U15 (n=15) teams. It is also possible to say that no meaningful relationship exists between the Competition concerns (Ġlinois) score and the negative behaviors displayed during the match for the players of the neither Boluspor U14 (18) nor U15 (n=14) teams. Statistically, no meaningful relationship has been observed between the Competition concerns (Ġlinois) scores of the 10 teams participating in total in the research from (5) football clubs before the starting of a match and their positivenegative behaviors displayed during the match. However, a meaningful inverse relationship at a moderate level has been determined between the Competition concerns (Ġlinois) score and the negative behaviors displayed during the match of TorkuĢeker Konyaspor U14 team. In conclusion, for the football players in the 14-15 age groups playing in the academic league, except for one match, no meaningful relationship has been determined between their Competition concerns (Ġlinois) anxiety scores before the starting of a match and their positive and negative behaviors during the match. However, from one of the five football clubs included in the research, a meaningful inverse relationship at a moderate level has been found between the Competition concerns (Ġlinois) score of the U15 team players before the start of a match and their negative behaviors during the match.
