Abstract:This study aims to determine the existence and direction of the relationship between managers' leadership behaviors and organizational silence behaviors and determine the effect of demographic variables by means of relational screening according to the perceptions of teachers working in secondary schools. Therefore, effects of dimensions of managers' leadership styles on dimensions of the organizational silence behaviors and effect of demographic variables on both manager's leadership styles and teachers' organizational silence behaviors have been examined. Descriptive study group of the study consists of 252 teachers working on 8 high schools in Ankara province, Etimesgut/Eryaman district (Etimesgut District Director of National Education) in 2015-2016 academic year. Data were obtained through questionnaires. In the study, Leadership Orientations Questionnaire (LOQ) (Ek 1), which is proposed by Bolman and Deal (1991) and translated in Turkish by Dereli (2003), and Organizational Silence Scale which is proposed by Kahveci and Demirtaş (2013b) have been used as data gathering tool. The obtained data were transferred to digital data by SPSS 23.0 data analysis package program and analyzed statistically with SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 21.0 programs. The demographic characteristics of the participants are presented in the form of frequency tables. Exploratory factor analysis and then confirmatory factor analysis have been performed with AMOS program in order to test construct validity of the scale used in the research study. Besides, distribution of the factors has been tested with Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, correlation analysis, then independent t test and One-Way ANOVA test have been performed in order to compare the mean values, and multiple linear regression analysis has been performed in order to examine causality relation between variables. As a result, of the research, the perception of the leadership style level of the teachers working in the secondary schools is obtained as lower than 3 which is medium level. While the biggest arithmetic mean value is obtained for symbolic dimension style as 2.62, the lowest arithmetic mean value is obtained for human resource dimension as 2.31. According to teachers' perception, it is seen that biggest value related with the sub-dimensions of the organizational silence is obtained for teacher dimension as 3.31. This value is followed by the ambiance which is 3.28 and the administrator which 3.1. In general, the organizational silence behaviors is obtained bigger than the 3 which is medium level. When interchange relationships between variables and findings have been examined, it is seen that, correlation values of the dimensions of leadership styles between each other and organizational silence are all positive and meaningful at the level of p<0.01. It is seen that, relationship between the human resource and symbolic which are both sub-dimensions of the leadership styles has the biggest value (r=,754). Besides, it is seen that, the relationships between the each sub-dimension of the organizational silence and leadership styles are all positive and meaningful at the level of p<0.01. The relationship between the ambiance and administrative which are both sub-dimensions of the organizational silence has the biggest value (r=,592). According to results obtained from the multiple linear regression analysis performed in order to test casual effects of independent variables which are sub-dimensions of the leadership styles on dependent variables which are sub-dimensions of the organizational silence, it is seen that, the human resource dimension and structural dimension have been statistically significant predictors of the teacher sub-dimension, and the political sub-dimension has only been statistically significant predictors of teacher sub-dimension, and none of leadership styles was found to have a statistically significant effect on the ambience sub-dimension.
