Abstract:Being healthy is the essential factor for quality life. For the quality of life, the individual should avoid attitudes and behaviors that will harm his / her health. There are many factors that affect the health status of individuals. In this study, the factors affecting the general health status of individuals and their general health status were tried to be determined. For this purpose, Turkey Health Survey conducted by Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) within the scope of the data is used. In this study, artificial neural networks and multinomial logistic regression analysis were applied separately and classification successes were compared. As a result of the analyzes, the correct classification rates of the general health status of the individuals were calculated as 76,29% for the multinomial logistic regression analysis and 75,37% for the artificial neural network. Multinomial logistic regression has a better correct classification rate than artificial neural network for the data set. The aim of this study is to contribute to the literature as a result of the interpretation of the classification successes obtained by two different analysis methods
