Material design processes of art and crafts teacher candidates for teaching artictic modelling principles to elementary school students

The aim of this research is to determine the education materials that the visual arts teachers of elementary education need and to examine the material design process of teacher candidates who develope these teaching materials. The study group is consist of 5 visual arts teachers from various elementary schools in Bolu county and students who attend Teaching Technologies and Material Design class at Abant İzzet Baysal University Education Faculty Department of Fine Arts Education, Art and Craft Teaching. This study includes the phases of determining needs about teaching materials in visual arts field and planning teaching process according to these needs, designing teaching materials, analysing and interpretating the datas. Qualitative data collecting and analysing methods were used in this study, datas were collected by conversation, observation and document survey methods. Datas were solved by content analysis, descriptive analysis and document analaysis in N Vivo 7 package programme, then the finding are presented as models and graphics. About the need analysis; visual arts teachers need teaching materials about subjects such as teaching perspective, figure drawing, art criticism, art history, museum education, principles for artistic composition, The cooperative learning processes are effective on developing cognitive, metacognitive, affective and psychomotor skills. İn addition in learning environment; the learners develop social skills are the conclusions .
