Abstract:The Altıntaş Residence, considered to be one of the traditional residential buildings located in the Başören Village of the Kızılcahamam District of the City of Ankara, is the subject of this thesis. The aim of this study is; to prepare scaled drawings in order to document the current situation of an example of Turkish rural architectural heritage, provide a restoration plan, and pass on this cultural heritage to future generations. During the study, the damage and changes that have occurred throughout the years have been documented, the immediate surroundings of the building have been researched, and with a comparative study conducted between other residences of the Başören Village and its immediate surroundings, it has been determined that Altıntaş Residence carries a distinctive role in rural cultural heritage. As a result, a restoration proposal was prepared to evaluate the collected data and to make the physical interventions determined to be used as a housing again.
