Abstract:In the early and classical Ottoman period, the most important educational buildings were accepted as madrasas. In this period, there is a religious education system based on religion. The students used to stay and study in the cell units in the madrasah. The madrasas had a courtyard in the middle and spaces lined up around it. The difficult situation of the country in the late Ottoman period was tried to be solved with the reforms made in the field of education. With the education system becoming 3-digit, new educational institutions have emerged. As a result of the importance given to education in the early Republican period, higher education institutions increased. With the education of students outside the city, the need for accommodation structures for students has increased. Change and development of parameters such as dormitory structures, number of floors, number of persons, type room, education system, location and technology have transformed the educational structures for student accommodation in the Ottoman period to today's education and dormitory structures. These parameters are; it is ensured that future dormitory structures are solved by considering the problems of dormitory structures. The advent of the emergence and development of dormitory structures is continuing.
