Abstract:This descriptive research is a technical and stylistic investigation of 1st, 2nd,3rd, 4th and 5th etudes in Sebastian Lee Op. 31 method. Content analysis model, which is a qualitative analysis method, was used in the research. We aimed to bring analytic point of view to workers of this area and increase the efficiency of working time with this research. In the results, rhythmic figures of every etude, pattern sentences, number of usage in the pattern, ratio, location of measurements and ratio and number of usage positions were determined and tables were formed. Harmonic analysis of etudes and formal structure were added to results. According to the results of the analysis the themes that are contributed were; in the first etude right hand: legato, 4 beat measurement bonding, string alteration, equal pressure and playing the arpeggio; left hand: positioning of finger, articulation, transfer of position, playing the arpeggio; in the second etude right hand: using fiddlestick in the equal speed and string alteration; left hand: positioning of finger and transfers in I and I-IV more oftenly; in the third etude right hand: adjusting elbow according to string in string alterations, adaptation of arrow speed according to numbers of bonding, maintaining the equal bow speed in the transfers of positions in bonding; left hand: playing in open position, positioning of finger, trill , transfering of IV-VI positions; in the fourth etude right hand: binded staccato, using bow in the equal speed, changing bow in different speeds, left hand: positioning of finger, transferring of position, playing the arpeggio and trill; in the fifth etude right hand: transferring of string, playing the arpeggio, playing the legato, using bow in the equal speed; left hand: playing the arpeggio, transferring of positions and fifth position.
