Abstract:This research presents the effects of emotional intelligence levels of individuals to the preparatory works of musical bands and their concert performances. The population of the research constitutes the violoncello students studying in musical education departments of educational faculties in Turkey. The sample of the research constitutes all the violoncello students studying in musical education department of Gazi Education Faculty at Gazi University. In this research, the scales of Emotional Intelligence test, the scores of preparatory works in musical bands prepared by researchers and specialists and concert performance scores are used. While analyzing the data aimed at the solutions to the problems of this research, frequency analysis, hypothesis testing, Pearson Correlation analysis, simple linear regression analysis are performed. As a result of the research; There is a positive and very powerful correlation between emotional intelligence scores and preparatory works scores. There is a positive correlation between emotional intelligence scores and both musical success and the success for executing the tasks within the band as required. The relation between emotional intelligence score and technical success is reverse and very weak. Emotional Intelligence creates the most significant impact on the scores of preparatory works. Then the success for executing within a band as required, musical success, technical success follow this respectively. According to Kruskal Wallis test, there aren't distinction between assessment of specialists. At the end of the research, the suggestions are put forward by the researcher.
