Abstract:In this study, to research the white matters of hypothalamus which is vital because of its complicated anatomic structure and having many functions is aimed. This study was performed between Februray 2019- May 2019 in Acıbadem University Faculty Of Medicine, Microsurgery- Neuroanatomy Laboratory Of Department Of Neurosurgery and The Gazi Universty Hızır Alp Microsurgery Anatomy and Fiber Disection Laborataries. 12 postmortem human brain specimens were prepared in accordance with Klingler’s method. Brain hemispheres were dissected step by step from lateral to medial, medial to lateral, superior to inferior and inferior to süperior under operating microscope and three-dimensional images were captured at every stage. The following structures and their relation with the hypothalamus defined anatomically and radiologically. Diagonal band of Broca, the ventral amygdalohypothalamic fiber, stria terminalis, fornix are related with the anteromedial part of the hypothalamus; the cingulum, supraoptic commissüre, the frontopontine tracts are related with the anterolateral part of hypothalamus; medial longitudinal fasciculus, dorsal longitudinal fasciculus are related with posteromedial part of the hypothalamus; ansa peduncülaris, the postcommissural 57 fornix, the fasciculus mamillaris princeps, the corticospinal tract, the temporoparietooccipitopontine tract, the medial lemniscus, the spinothalamic tract, the mammillotegmental tract and dentorubrothalamic tract, are related with the posterolateral part of the hypothalamus; ,the fasciculus retroflexus, the mammillothalamic tract are lies süperior to inferior part of hypothalamus. More effective results are possible to get when the existing anatomic structure of hypothalamus which has come into prominence as a target in the current functional and conventinal neurosurgery studies. As a result, MR tractography reconstruction of hypothalamus structures in the preoperative cycle in the clinic may reveal 3D relation between the different fascicules of the area. Also, it enables the safe limits of this area for the operation among the Deep Brain Stimulation or tumor resection operation to be done. However, the assistant methods may give accurate results if the anatomy of this area is known well
