Abstract:The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between the severity of bladder functions, fatigue, fall, quality of life and pelvic floor muscle strength in patients with MS. Patients were divided into group 1 (Expanded Disability Status Scale (EDSS) bladder score 0-1, mildly affected group) and group 2 (EDSS bladder score 2-3-4, moderate and severely affected group) according to EDSS bladder subscore. EDSS score, Urogenital Distress Inventory-short form (UDI-6), Incontinence Impact Questionnaire-short form (IIQ-7), Fall Efficacy Scale (FES-1), Fatigue Severity Scale (FSS) and EMG-Biofeedback device were used for evaluations. EDSS score was 2 (1-5.5), EMG-Biofeedback score was 94,45±47,13, FSS score was 35,82±14,05, FES-I score was 14,36±7,80, UDI-6 score was 4,36±2,34 and IIQ-7 score was 2,64±3,61 in Group 1. EDSS score was 4 (3-6), EMGBiofeedback score was 45,22±29,40, FSS score was 56,67±9,04, FES-I score was 49,22±39,02, UDI-6 score was 8,22±2,68 and IIQ-7 score was 21,00±3,91 in Group 2. As a result of statistical analysis significant differences were found in pelvic floor muscle strength, fatigue, falling and quality of life between the groups (p<0,05). The results show that there was significantly difference according to bladder function level in pelvic floor muscle strength, falling, fatigue and quality of life between the mildly affected group and the moderate and severe affected group and we were thought these parameters effects each other. It was determined to have less fatigue and fall, higher pelvic floor muscle strength and better quality of life with mildly affected MS patients.
