Abstract:Nowadays, in order to obtain electricity from waste heat and waste vapors, intensive work is carried out on small and medium sized power outputs with high efficiency and power-to-weight ratio. In this study, the use of exhaust heat (indirect exhaust gas recovery) for a vehicle with 13L diesel engine is intended. Pars Engine's Turbine, which will be used in electricity production, is provided in laboratory environment with hot and cold air tests and optimization of the designed system. As a result of the experiments on the diesel engine, it was observed that the exhaust gas temperature increased up to 600 °C and it was observed that the air temperature entering the Pars Turbine reached 150 °C with the instrumentation made on the exhaust pipe. Cold and hot air tests performed in laboratory environment and the contribution of exhaust temperature to the system were evaluated. In cold weather experiments, the maximum power was obtained as 2,5W at 300 rpm and the maximum power was obtained as 13,5 W at 1000 rpm in hot air experiments. With the increase in temperature, the turbine power increased by 5,4 times. With the help of this study, waste exhaust gas energy will be reused and system efficiency will be increased
