Abstract:

The metal manufacturing sector is an important part of manufacturing industry. This sector has a high rate of occupational accidents comparing with other sectors. Determination of man and infrastructure factors cause occupational accidents and their efficiency on accidents. In this study the factors cause the occupational accidents and occupational sickness were explained generally and a questionnaire composed of 40 questions were applied on 101 workers who works metal manufacturing sector. The results were evaluated with SPSS package program. The results were also analyzed with Fisher test and frequency tables. The results of Fisher tests show that there is no significant relationship between work accident and marital status and education level of workers. Similarly there is no significant relationship between accident and smoking and drinking alcohol. The results show that the cause of work accident is firstly dangerous behavior and secondly tiredness and thirdly no usage of personal protective equipment.
