Abstract:

The Adaptive Training Systems provides a training environment and content as regards preference, knowledge level, and learning style of students by using various learning system approaches during the education process. In this work, it is aimed to determine the use of Adaptive Web Based Mediation Training System's (A-MTS) effect to learning success and its utility to the education in teaching the law and communication subjects within the Mediation Basic Training by comparing the adaptive training systems with traditional training systems. Within the context of the developed application, the subject of mediation basic training was discussed and two courses ( law and communication) within the Mediation Basic Training were applied as examples. The evaluation was made with a 40-person experimental group consisting of candidates who have mediation training qualification to be able to determine the effect of the developed system to the user's learning levels and the observations of the attendants and experts who use the A-MTS. The statistical analysis of the success levels of pre-test before the training and last-test after the training was made on the quantitative scale. On the qualitative dimension; a preliminary questionnaire was applied to the experimental group participants before the training to measure the expectation. After the training, a last questionnaire was applied to measure the observations. The experts compared the advantages, disadvantages and differences between the A-MTS and the traditional training system, and graded the system concerning its design and functions. As a result of expert evaluation, it was established that the success rate of the A-MTS was found to be 88,25 %. Statistically, a considerable difference between the pre-test and the last test applied before and after the experimental activity was found in favor of the experimental group. According to the common results of the pre-test applied before the training, the participants who used the A-MTS mentioned that the developed system was beneficial and effective in the learning process. When the answers given for the questions in the last questionnaire applied after the training were evaluated, average for the each question and overall average of all averages were found as 3,96. Based on the findings and results acquired from the research, it was evaluated that the success of A-MTS participants increased in the learning process and it was beneficial for the education.
