Abstract:Since the 19th century when the applications for the preservation of immovable cultural assets started to be made in the scientific context, the surveys including the determination of the present conditions constitute one of the most important steps in terms of forming a base for protection practices. With the help of simple instruments like meter and jalon in the past, the surveillance can be created by means of different optical and computer system tools and software with the progress of the technology. Particularly when safety is not achieved, part of the structure is not reached or it is not possible to take measurements for various reasons, it is necessary to use these systems and methods in common and to obtain accurate display. In this thesis, the availability of mobile phone applications in the integrated - combined surveying method has been investigated. The actual measurements of the southwest wall of the selected Izmir Yalı mosque were determined within the scope of the study and this facade was re-measured by selected mobile phone applications. The obtained data were compared with each other and the actual measurements according to ICOMOS and Letellier acceptance, depending on such criteria as height, accuracy and width measurements, distance, phone gripping. Measuring with mobile phones has also been investigated in terms of ergonomics, cost and time saving, and the advantages and disadvantages of this method are presented.
