Abstract:

With the increasing demand for electrical energy and difficulties in energy supply and generation increases the energy costs. In this case, the effect of the efficient use of energy has gained importance. Efficient use of energy may be provided by decreasing energy losses and increasing the stability of the system. In particular, reactive power compensation for optimum utilization of energy has emerged to materialize for the reduction of losses and providing optimum utilization of energy in industrial facilities which use high amount of energy. Reactive power compensation systems in use today are insufficient in compensation of the quickly switched on and off loads. This situation causes to pay the penalty and has led to an increase in energy costs. Reactive power compensation of power systems can be made precise and fast with dynamic reactive power compensation system. In this study, of the reactive power controller which can measure the current and voltage of three-phase system in a short time and cancalculate the necessary reactive power is designed. The proposed reactive power control relay scan control three-phase or single-phase, capacitive or inductive compensation groups. In addition, thyristor controlled unit is also designed to switch on and off the compensation groups in a short time. Since this unit is triggered on the zero crossing of the current, inrush currents and voltage fluctuations are prevented. So, proposed system provides compensation of the unbalanced loads beside the dynamic loads.
