Proje Özeti

Considering the diversity of boron and boron compounds, their wide range of areas of use, the superior properties they add to materials when used (such as corrosion resistance, flame retardancy, high mechanical strength), and Turkey's worldwide leadership in the boron sector, it is thought that boron and boron compounds will offer innovative solutions in powder paint; they will play a very important role in reducing external dependency on raw materials, increasing the use of domestic products, and obtaining raw materials that are less harmful to the environment and human health. In this context, the project aims to investigate the use of various boron compounds as fillers and additives in powder paint. Gazi University will carry out the synthesis and/or physical formation of these boron compounds to be applied in powder paint. The formulations in which the prepared boron compounds will be used are determined by İBA Kimya and will be produced in İBA Kimya R&D Laboratory. After laboratory and pilot scale powder paint productions to be carried out in İBA Kimya, various properties of the powder paint will be tested and boron compounds suitable for industrial scale production will be determined. Products with suitable results in industrial scale production will be tested under customer conditions.
